With over three decades of experience leading high-impact real estate development and homebuilding operations, Greg Balen brings a rare combination of executive leadership, field expertise, and strategic insight into the residential construction industry. From ground-up development to organizational transformation, Greg has consistently delivered operational results across public and private homebuilders nationwide.

Before joining Homes Built For America as Chief Operating Officer, Greg served as COO of U.S. Operations at Empire Communities, where he drove a company wide operational overhaul across five states.

Greg has also held senior executive roles including Regional President at Landsea Homes and Senior Vice President at Starwood Land Ventures. Across these positions, he has led large-scale development initiatives, implemented successful land acquisition strategies, restructured underperforming divisions, and managed the full lifecycle of residential and mixed-use projects.

Greg is a licensed General Engineering and General Building Contractor in California and Arizona, as well as a licensed Architect. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
